One subject that is always on my mind is the state of the Green Bay Packers. I've found myself muddled in march- the combine and most of free agency has past, not to mention the draft is still over a month away. This is the time for mock drafts etc... So I'll make one of my own.
Our first pick is the 9th one, that we received for our glorious 6-10-smash-face-in-wall season. We will have hundreds of players to choose from, but can only select one. Possible options are:
1. B.J. Raji (NT)- He is quite large (330 lbs), and fairly agile for a man his size. He is intelligent, plays with a decent motor, and has shown the ability to take on double teams. I think he will be the pick if he is on the board, but with the lack of NT prospects in this draft he could go well before even the 9th pick.
2. Brian Orakpo (DE/OLB)- A workout warrior with athleticism to boot O-Sack-Po did very well at Texas this year. He can definetely get to the QB, but has some injury concerns (knees).
3. Everette Brown (DE/OLB)- Similar to Orakpo except in a few areas. He is a few inches shorter (since when is 6'1 short?), but I think he is a more complete rusher.
4. Michael Johnson (DE/OLB)- A lot of people are hating on this guy because of his lack of production, but 9 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss sounds okay to me. Oh, he is also 6'6 270 lbs and runs a 4.7 40 yard dash.
5. Tyson Jackson (DE)- Prolly the safest pick at where we are. Has consistently shown a stack and shed ability that is needed in the 3-4 defense.
6. Malcolm Jenkins (CB/S)- Think of this guy as Charles Woodson right now. Drafting a 22 y/o who has the speed and abilities of a 33 y/o? Luckily, he compares to an all-pro 33 y/o.
